The National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (Idaan) reported that the Jaime Díaz Quintero Water Treatment Plant, located in the district of La Chorrera, is operating at 50% of its capacity due to an incident registered in the raw water intake pump. The entity indicated that this situation affects the supply of drinking water in several sectors of the province of West Panama. In the La Chorrera district, the affected areas include Guadalupe, El Coco, Playa Leona, Barrio Colón, and Balboa. While in the district of Arraiján, impacts are reported in Juan D. Arosemena, Vista Alegre, and Vacamonte. Idaan pointed out that specialized personnel is working to resolve the incident and restore the plant's normal operation as soon as possible. In this situation, the institution asked for understanding from the residents of the affected communities while the technical work progresses.
